Frequently asked questions

Yes – your children are entitled to join the credit union if they fall within our common bond. We welcome all your family members and encourage all our younger members to open an account and avail of the many benefits on offer. Please provide a birth certificate or a passport along with their PPS number for every child. Please note that we will also need photographic ID and address verification for the parent/guardian opening the account.

The common bond is the factor which unites all the members of our credit union – it is what we all have in common. Our common bond covers:

  • Members of An Garda Síochána
  • Civilian staff of An Garda Síochána (see full definition below)
  • Employees of St Raphael’s Garda Credit Union
  • And family members for all the above that reside at the same address.
